THE AUTHOR
I grew up on the east coast of the United States and have been working in the natural resources field for over 15 years. I have worked in environmental consulting, at a wildlife refuge, a Texas State Park, and served in the Peace Corps. Check out my LinkedIn profile.
After moving to Fort Worth in the summer of 2018 with my growing family of 8, I decided to open Pebble Pond Preschool, a place to connect children with nature in their early years. I split my time between my family, gardening, managing the preschool, and exploring natural spaces.
THE WEBSITE
My husband and I want to make sure our children have a relationship with nature and a sense of place, not just to the man made place but also to the natural place that makes this area beautiful and special. After moving to the big city of Fort Worth, my family and I decided to start exploring the local parks in the area to get to know our new natural surrounding. I started this project as a journal of my family's adventures and findings of the parks, to serve as a guide to the residents of Fort Worth, and to serve as a resource to the families of my preschool on great places to take their children to connect to nature. I hope you too find this resource helpful and that it allows you and your family to take a step back from the hectic lives we so often lead and connect yourselves to nature for years to come.
