Oakmont Park is a beautiful park with a lot of natural spaces. It is part of the Trinity River Trail that stretches about 6 miles. Located in the South West area of Fort Worth, it is bordered to the west by the Clear Fork Trinity River and the city of Benbrook. Within the actual park there is only about 1.5 miles of paved trail. However, it links to other trails once you cross the Clear Fork Trinity River. Nature: This park is a great place to look for a diversity of species. You have several different types of habitat in this park. There are the high points that are dry, low grassy areas, and bottomland forests around the Clear Fork Trinity River. Naturalist have documented a great deal of biodiversity on iNaturalist. Tips: Try not to leave anything in the car that you may need as the playground is about a 5-minute walk from parking. If you plan on walking/riding the trails, bring plenty of water as there are no water fountains. History: Established in 1981.
